Cut the power and do not turn it on again. Under no circumstances allow the controller to begin a rebuild: putting writes onto a member that was already failing is how an array that could still be read becomes unreadable. Write down which bay each disk came from, send them without the chassis, and each one is imaged individually before anything is reassembled.
The whole case file sits on one office machine. Can it be read?
Usually. Scanned deeds, title plans, correspondence and accounts tend to reside on one office computer that never made it onto the backup, and a completion date will not move for it. Remove the disk, leave the machine where it is and send just the drive.
Will somebody come out to Truro and collect it?
