Truro had 21,046 residents in the parish at the 2021 census, 23,060 across the built-up area. It is Cornwall's only city and its county town, and Cornwall Council runs the county from Lys Kernow on Treyew Road. Yes, TR1 through TR4 and the parishes beyond. Media goes to the intake lab at Bristol: post it tracked, or drive it — the A30 east to Launceston, across the Tamar there for nothing, then Exeter and the M5. The look is free the day it lands, and postage home is ours.
The array has lost a second disk. What should we do?
Cut the power and leave it off. On no account let the controller start a rebuild — putting writes onto a member that was already going is how an array that could still have been read stops being readable. Make a note of the bay each disk came from, send them without the chassis, and each one is imaged individually before anything is reassembled.
The whole case file sat on one office machine. Can it be read?
Usually. Scanned deeds, title plans, correspondence and the accounts tend to live on one office PC that never made it onto the backup, and a completion date will not move for it. Take the disk out, leave the machine standing, and send the drive by itself.
Will somebody come out to Truro and collect it?
No. We run no van and never have. Tracked, insured post gets there sooner than a driver on the A30, and if you would rather drive, the Bristol lab accepts hand-ins on weekdays. Phone first if the item is an awkward shape and the packing can be sorted out on the call.
